Skiing in Innsbruck 2026/27: ski areas, SKI plus CITY Pass prices and where to stay

Innsbruck is the rare city where you can ski and sleep in town: 12 ski areas with 265 km of pistes share one lift pass, the SKI plus CITY Pass Stubai Innsbruck, which costs 162 euros for two days and 433 euros for seven (2026/27 adult prices) and also covers 23 city sights. Beginners and families do best at the Patscherkofel, Muttereralm or Schlick 2000; strong skiers go to the Nordkette, Axamer Lizum and the Stubai Glacier. Free ski buses run from the city with the pass and the Welcome Card.

How skiing from Innsbruck works

You stay in the city or a village on its edge and ride a bus, tram or cable car to a different mountain each day. The Nordkette starts in the city centre, the Patscherkofel and Muttereralm are a few minutes away, and the Stubai valley, Axamer Lizum and Kühtai are a longer bus ride. The evening is back in town, with restaurants, Christmas markets and museums.

If you have seen the name Olympia SkiWorld Innsbruck, the regional pass sold today is the SKI plus CITY Pass Stubai Innsbruck. It covers 12 ski areas and 265 km of pistes, from the Nordkette down to the Stubai Glacier at 3,212 m.

Our take on each: Private snowshoe and winter hike near Innsbruck.

SKI plus CITY Pass 2026/27: prices and what it includes

The pass is sold for 2 to 21 consecutive days and is valid from 10 October 2026 to 25 April 2027. Children (born 2012 to 2018) pay about half, for example 81 euros for 2 days and 217 euros for 7; youth (born 2008 to 2011) 113 and 303; seniors (born 1948 to 1961) 138 and 368.

It includes unlimited skiing in all 12 areas, the ski buses and shuttles, and once each 23 city experiences, including the Hofburg, Ambras Castle, the Alpine Zoo, the Bergisel ski jump, Swarovski Crystal Worlds and the LUMAGICA light trail. On the city's doorstep: Nordkette, Patscherkofel and Muttereralm

The Nordkette (season 20 November 2026 to 25 April 2027) is reached from the old town by the Hungerburgbahn, then the Seegrube and Hafelekar cable cars to 2,256 m. Its 13.9 km of pistes are steep, high-alpine freeride terrain for strong skiers, not beginners. Last ride up is 15:45.

The Patscherkofel above Igls is Innsbruck's Olympic mountain, family friendly, with 20 km of pistes, two fun parks and views of more than 400 peaks; bus J runs from the city to the valley station. Its 2026/27 season is listed as 12 December 2026 to 29 March 2027. The Muttereralm (17 km, top 1,804 m) is very close too, with a clear layout and a forest run on a former Olympic route; its 2026/27 dates are not yet published.
