Hotel Mondschein is one of the colourful houses lining the Inn at Mariahilf, the row you see on every postcard of Innsbruck. The old town is about 200 metres away over the bridge, and the Golden Roof and the Congress station of the Nordkette cable car are each about five minutes on foot. The house dates back to 1473 and the Ischia family has run it since 1976.
There are 29 rooms. The river view rooms look across the Inn to the old town, and families have a 30 m² family room for four and a 50 m² family suite for up to six. A regional breakfast buffet is included, and the Innside Pilspub in the old cellar vault is there for an evening drink. Dogs are welcome. It suits couples who want that view and families who want space in the centre.
In winter
Cross the bridge and you are in the old town Christmas market within minutes; the free ski bus stop is close by, and boots go in the heated ski room overnight.
In summer
The Nordkette cable car's Congress station is about five minutes' walk, so a morning on the Hafelekar and an evening by the river are easy to combine.
