Baggersee Rossau: the city's bathing lake
The Baggersee in the Rossau district is Innsbruck's own lake: 36,000 m² of water with 53,000 m² of lawn around it, a children's pool, a playground, minigolf, a beach bar and free parking. It is the easiest swim in the city, with the Nordkette as the backdrop.
In summer 2026 the lifeguarded season ran from 9 May to 13 September, daily from 09:00 to 18:00. A day ticket cost €5.90 for adults, €3.50 for young people and €2.40 for children, with an afternoon ticket from 14:00 at €4.30 and free entry for under 6s. Outside the season and after 18:00, entry is free but there are no lifeguards. Dogs are not allowed.
Freibad Tivoli is the city's big outdoor pool complex, run like the Baggersee by the local utility IKB: five pools including a 50 m pool, a 70 m slide, a diving tower from 1 to 10 m and 28,000 m² of lawn. It is the choice for families who want lanes, slides and lifeguards in one place.
In summer 2026 it opened from 9 May to 13 September, daily from 09:00 to 19:00 (last entry 18:15). An adult day ticket cost €6.60, falling to €4.70 from 14:00 and €2.70 from 16:00; children paid €2.70 and under 6s went free.

The Lanser See lies in the village of Lans, on the sunny plateau above Igls. It is a quieter, village swim than the city lidos, and pairs well with a walk on the Patscherkofel or the Zirbenweg on the same day.
The Igls tram, line 6, has a Lanser See stop. Entry prices and the 2026 bathing season were not published on the pages we checked, so ask your hotel or check locally before you go.

Boats link six piers: Seespitz, Buchau, Pertisau, Gaisalm, Seehofkapelle Lido and Scholastika, and the north and south round trips start from Pertisau. In 2026 the hop-on hop-off day ticket could be redeemed with the local Achenseecard from 1 May to 1 November.
By car, take the A12 Inntal motorway to the Wiesing exit and the B181 up to the lake (parking €2 an hour or €8 a day). By rail, take the train to Jenbach and the Achenseebahn up to Seespitz, where it connects directly with the boats. The 2026 boat fares and timetable are in the operator's price list.
If you would rather swim where you sleep, several hotels have proper pools. In the city, the Grauer Bär has a rooftop pool with the Nordkette in view, and Hotel Das Innsbruck's pool by the Inn is open around the clock. On the plateaus, the Bon Alpina in Igls has an outdoor pool open from 10:00 to 21:00, the Gruberhof has a bathing pond, and in Hall the Heiligkreuz is 400 m from the town's outdoor pool.
