Hotel Gruberhof has been run by the Gruber family since 1918 and sits on Heiligwasserweg in Igls, the village on the sunny terrace above Innsbruck. The Patscherkofel cable car is only a few minutes away, the village centre is a short walk, and bus J connects to Innsbruck, about 15 minutes by car. Bob, skeleton and luge teams stay here during World Cup races on the nearby Olympic track.
Rooms are Tyrolean in style and most have a balcony or a mountain view, with doubles, triples, rooms for four and two-room family rooms and suites for up to six. A buffet breakfast is served until 9:45, parking is free at the back door, and there is a ski room and a games room with billiards and table football. In summer the 900 square metre bathing pond with lawn and loungers is free for guests. It suits families, skiers and anyone who prefers village quiet to city bustle.
