The day starts at Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof, on Südtiroler Platz in front of the station, where the shared shuttle bus to Wattens leaves. Swarovski runs it five times a day, so check the timetable and pick the departure that suits you. Wattens is about 20 km east along the Inn valley.
At Wattens you walk in past the Giant, the grassy head that guards the entrance, and into the Chambers of Wonder: rooms where artists and designers have each turned crystal into something different, from mirrored spaces to light installations.
Outside, the Crystal Cloud of some 800,000 hand-mounted crystals hangs over the garden, and children have the play tower, a maze, a playground and a carousel, says the listing. The café and restaurant by the gardens look out to the mountains, and the visit ends in one of the largest Swarovski stores anywhere.
Two to three hours is about right before you catch a bus back; the site is open 09:00 to 19:00 with last entry at 18:00.
In winter
From 11 November 2026 to 6 February 2027 Tord Boontje's crystal fairy-tale pieces light the winter garden, with his Crystal Star on a 10 m Christmas tree on the Grand Plaza. Most of the visit is indoors, which makes this a good plan for a snowy day in the city. Closed all day on 9 and 10 November 2026.
In summer
In summer the gardens, the Crystal Cloud and the outdoor play areas are at their best, and Swarovski lists circus shows over the summer months.
