Swarovski Crystal Worlds sits in Wattens, about 20 km east of Innsbruck, at the foot of the Giant: a grassy head with water pouring from its mouth that hides the entrance to the museum. Inside are the Chambers of Wonder, a run of rooms where artists and designers have each made something out of crystal, from mirrored spaces to light installations.
Out in the garden the highlight is the Crystal Cloud, which the listing says is made of 800,000 hand-mounted crystals hanging over a black pool. Children head for the play tower, a climbing and play landscape with space to burn off energy, and there is a café and restaurant looking out over the gardens to the mountains.
You finish in what the listing calls the world's largest Swarovski store. Allow two to three hours for the whole site, more with children who find the play tower.
The site is open daily from 09:00 to 19:00, last entry 18:00. Book a day, show the ticket on your phone, and go straight in.
In winter
From 11 November 2026 to 6 February 2027 Tord Boontje's crystal fairy-tale pieces light up the winter garden, with his Crystal Star on top of a 10 m Christmas tree on the Grand Plaza. Most of the visit is indoors, so it works well on a grey or snowy day. The site is closed all day on 9 and 10 November 2026.
In summer
In summer the gardens come into their own: the Crystal Cloud, the alpine garden with its artworks and the outdoor play tower. Swarovski also lists circus shows in summer.
