Motel One Innsbruck opened in November 2022 in the new tower right beside the Hauptbahnhof. Step out of the train and you are there, and the old town and the Golden Roof are an easy walk up through the centre.
The 234 rooms follow the Motel One formula: compact, well designed and fairly priced, without the extras you pay for elsewhere. The Innsbruck house adds a local twist, with carved wood, alpine fabrics and a reception styled on the Golden Roof. The highlight is the Cloud One Bar on the 13th floor, where the panoramic windows and terrace look out over the rooftops to the mountains. Breakfast is a buffet in the Tiroler Stube, bookable on top of the room, and there is a garage in the building. It suits couples and solo travellers who want a modern room in a central spot and would rather spend on the mountains than on the hotel.
In winter
Trains and buses towards the ski areas leave from the station next door, and the Christmas markets on Maria-Theresien-Strasse and in the old town are a short walk.
In summer
Watch the evening light on the Nordkette from the 13th-floor terrace bar after a day in the mountains or at the lakes.
