Hotel Kapeller is on Philippine-Welser-Strasse in Amras, a quieter residential district on the eastern side of Innsbruck near Schloss Ambras. Tram 3 runs from the city centre to its Amras terminus, and the hotel is about three minutes' walk from the stop. Drivers are about two minutes from the A12 motorway, and parking in the garage or in front of the hotel is free.
Rooms run from 18 m2 singles to 28 m2 doubles, many with a sofa bed for up to four, plus a Superior Double, a Junior Suite with a separate living room and a Panorama Suite with balcony, kitchenette and a freestanding bath under a skylight. Rooms in the annex have been newly rebuilt, and there is one accessible room. Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 10:00 in a sunny dining room with a terrace. Dogs are welcome on the two lower floors. It suits families, drivers and anyone who wants calm nights and simple value.
In winter
With free parking and the motorway two minutes away, it makes an easy base for driving to Patscherkofel, Axamer Lizum or Kühtai, and tram 3 takes you into town for the Christmas markets.
In summer
Schloss Ambras and its gardens are in the same district, and the breakfast terrace catches the morning sun.
