Hotel Café Central is a four-star hotel on Gilmstrasse in the city centre, five minutes' walk from the main station, with the old town about seven minutes to the north. At street level is Café Central, which calls itself Austria's westernmost Viennese coffee house: 22 coffee specialities, warm strudel, a cake cabinet stocked daily, dozens of newspapers and monthly jazz concerts. Works by Tyrolean artists, among them Max Weiler and Paul Flora, hang around the house.
The 84 rooms run from standard doubles and superior rooms to studios, junior suites and suites. On the fourth floor is a spa with a Finnish sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, quiet zone, fitness area and an open terrace. The breakfast buffet has an organic section. It suits couples who like a proper coffee house downstairs, and business travellers, with two meeting rooms in the building and the station close by.
